Kinnan/Westlake Hills
Originally a four-bedroom suburban from the seventies, this house underwent a major remodel to double its size, adding a master suite and enlarging the kitchen and living areas to accommodate a growing family and a host of friends. The new home had to be fun, and had to allow for the varied tastes of its inhabitants and their many activities and interests. Antiques, contemporary art, junque yard finds, and modern European furniture had to be integrated into a powerful architectural presence. The clients took an exuberant approach, drawing on their travels and taking risks with materials and techniques. The result is wonderfully eclectic, the uniquely personal expression of a truly fun and loving family.
