Tarrytown
This well-known builder had just moved in when the AIA decided to include his home on their annual homes tour, a mere 10 weeks away. He requested a more modern look; she did not want to give up her antiques and the tradition behind them. The result was a new traditional, which incorporated antiques with modern art, clean lined upholstery, and the use of modern fabrics on traditional frames. Almost all of the furniture not antique was designed and built locally, enabling us to meet the tour deadline. Wallcoverings and drapery of a formal note helped to create a casually elegant interior with one foot in both the New and the Old World.
